Boundary Disputes

Cutting down hedges, moving fences/walls and erecting buildings on your land can often give rise to a boundary dispute. Boundary disputes are the most frequent cause of bad feeling between neighbours, although most of the time they can be resolved without heartache or too much expense.

At SR & L, our expert litigation team will give advice on who owns the boundary and we can examine your title deeds. We can then approach you neighbour to attempt to agree the boundary line. If agreement can be reached we can assist with an application to the Land Registry to determine the boundary and this is then recorded on your Deeds.

If agreement cannot be reached it may be necessary to make an application to the court. This can be both costly and time consuming but we will guide you through the process and make it as swift and cost effective as possible by adopting a pragmatic approach to the problem.
